De plus, il n'y a pas de saison des amours pour les dauphins, qui peuvent donc s'accoupler toute l'ann\u00e9e. Ils peuvent donc s'accoupler tout au long de l'ann\u00e9e, <strong>quatre-vingt-dix pour cent<\/strong> de leur activit\u00e9 d'accouplement est <strong>pr\u00e9liminaires<\/strong>. Les femelles atteignent la maturit\u00e9 sexuelle un peu plus t\u00f4t, entre 5 et 13 ans (Orbach, D. et al., 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Les dauphins m\u00e2les semblent souvent contraindre les femelles \u00e0 avoir des rapports sexuels. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Il peut donc \u00eatre difficile de savoir ce qu'une femelle veut vraiment dans une situation d'accouplement (Scott et al., 2005). Certains disent m\u00eame qu'ils peuvent former des couples pour la vie. En ce qui concerne les grands dauphins, on peut dire qu'ils ont des p\u00e9riodes de bisexualit\u00e9 combin\u00e9es \u00e0 des p\u00e9riodes d'homosexualit\u00e9 exclusive. \u00c0 partir de l'\u00e2ge de 20-25 ans, ils deviennent des partenaires d'accouplement robustes \u00e0 des fins de reproduction. (Byne, 2000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"engage-in-courtship\">S'engager dans la parade nuptiale<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>En r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, les m\u00e2les doivent attirer l'attention des femelles de diff\u00e9rentes mani\u00e8res. Ils se livrent donc \u00e0 des acrobaties, se battent avec d'autres m\u00e2les et montrent leur force et leur dext\u00e9rit\u00e9. Par exemple, la gestation des orques est d'environ dix-sept mois... vous imaginez ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"birth\">Naissance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Au moment de mettre bas, les femelles ont tendance \u00e0 se regrouper pour aider la m\u00e8re \u00e0 accoucher. Chez d'autres esp\u00e8ces, la m\u00e8re a tendance \u00e0 s'isoler pour mettre au monde sa prog\u00e9niture dans un environnement plus calme et plus d\u00e9tendu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Les veaux naissent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement la queue en premier et le cordon ombilical se rompt pendant la mise bas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nursing\">Soins infirmiers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Les dauphins qui ont des petits produisent du lait dans leurs glandes mammaires. Le lait est tr\u00e8s riche en mati\u00e8res grasses et contient du colostrum. En effet, on pense que la nageoire dorsale se raidit en quelques heures. Les nageoires caudales semblent prendre un peu plus de temps. En outre, \u00e0 la naissance, les b\u00e9b\u00e9s ont des bandes de couleur plus claire qui recouvrent leur corps. Ces bandes sont appel\u00e9es bandes f\u0153tales et sont dues au fait qu'ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 serr\u00e9s dans l'ut\u00e9rus de leur m\u00e8re. Ces bandes disparaissent apr\u00e8s plusieurs semaines (Wells 1999).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"behavior-and-development\">Comportement et d\u00e9veloppement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Un b\u00e9b\u00e9 dauphin nage dans une position \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de sa m\u00e8re appel\u00e9e position de l'\u00e9chelon. Le b\u00e9b\u00e9 nage dans cette position afin d'attraper le sillage de sa m\u00e8re, r\u00e9duisant ainsi le travail du baleineau pour suivre sa m\u00e8re. Les b\u00e9b\u00e9s dauphins sont nourris en moyenne pendant un ou deux ans, mais on a observ\u00e9 des cas o\u00f9 ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nourris jusqu'\u00e0 quatre ans et demi (Wells 1999).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les b\u00e9b\u00e9s sont enti\u00e8rement d\u00e9pendants des femelles pendant plus de 2 ans pour l'allaitement (en fonction de l'esp\u00e8ce). Les m\u00e2les, en revanche, lorsqu'ils atteignent la maturit\u00e9 sexuelle, quittent les groupes et cr\u00e9ent un groupe de jeunes m\u00e2les.
