Il semblerait que les calmars g\u00e9ants soient la proie pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e des cachalots, bien qu'ils n'ignorent pas non plus les petits calmars. Les calmars g\u00e9ants p\u00e8sent jusqu'\u00e0 une tonne et peuvent mesurer plus de 12 m\u00e8tres, ils peuvent donc mieux nourrir un cachalot que les calmars de petite taille. Cependant, ils n'abandonnent pas non plus sans d\u00e9fense. Plusieurs cachalots portent des marques autour de la t\u00eate, r\u00e9sultant des combats d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9s des calmars g\u00e9ants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-ce4ac980-cf36-48d7-aea9-9e37758c07c3\">En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les cachalots mangent entre 400 et 800 calmars par jour, en fonction de leur taille et de leur succ\u00e8s de chasse.
