Elles doivent n\u00e9anmoins remonter \u00e0 la surface pour respirer de l'air frais dans leurs poumons. Les baleines sont devenues des perfectionnistes pour ce qui est de retenir leur souffle pendant de longues p\u00e9riodes. On pourrait penser que tous les organes des baleines bleues sont extraordinairement grands et qu'elles ont donc d'\u00e9normes poumons, qui peuvent emmagasiner plus d'air, ce qui leur permet de plonger plus longtemps. Mais ce n'est pas si simple ! Cependant, proportionnellement, les baleines ont des poumons plus petits que ceux des humains. Alors qu'un poumon humain occupe environ 7% de la cavit\u00e9 interne du corps, les poumons des baleines n'en occupent qu'environ 3%. Les poumons des baleines ont une structure unique, avec des sacs a\u00e9riens interconnect\u00e9s et bien perfus\u00e9s, qui leur permet de respirer beaucoup plus efficacement. Le fait le plus important, cependant, est que les baleines bleues peuvent stocker jusqu'\u00e0 90% de leur consommation d'oxyg\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toutes les baleines \u00e0 fanons poss\u00e8dent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement deux \u00e9vents, ce qui leur permet d'absorber davantage d'oxyg\u00e8ne. Elles expirent alors avec force pour \u00e9liminer les mol\u00e9cules d'eau environnantes, les emp\u00eachant ainsi de p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans la trach\u00e9e et les poumons. D'une mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, le sang occupe jusqu'\u00e0 20% du volume corporel chez les baleines, mais seulement 7% chez l'homme. En outre, le sang et les muscles, qui contiennent des prot\u00e9ines sp\u00e9ciales appel\u00e9es h\u00e9moglobine et myoglobine, semblent \u00eatre les principaux r\u00e9servoirs d'oxyg\u00e8ne dans le corps des baleines. Dans chacune de ces prot\u00e9ines, les baleines poss\u00e8dent 30% de plus que les humains, ce qui leur permet de stocker jusqu'\u00e0 35% d'oxyg\u00e8ne en plus. Au total, les baleines peuvent stocker jusqu'\u00e0 75% de l'oxyg\u00e8ne inhal\u00e9 dans leur syst\u00e8me circulatoire !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-blue-whale-diving\">Plong\u00e9e \u00e0 la baleine bleue<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>L'une des conditions essentielles pour les longues plong\u00e9es est v\u00e9rifi\u00e9e avant de p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans les abysses. Au lieu d'inspirer et de plonger, ils expirent environ 90% de l'air emprisonn\u00e9 \u00e0 une vitesse pouvant atteindre 600 km\/h avant de redescendre. Une partie de l'\u00e9change gazeux tr\u00e8s efficace des c\u00e9tac\u00e9s repose sur ce m\u00e9canisme, car l'air vici\u00e9 est expuls\u00e9 en premier, ce qui permet d'absorber davantage d'oxyg\u00e8ne frais. Il en r\u00e9sulte une absorption d'oxyg\u00e8ne d'environ 90% par respiration chez les baleines, contre 15% seulement chez l'homme. Un autre avantage est qu'en l'absence de poumons remplis d'air, la flottabilit\u00e9 diminue et le fait de couler n\u00e9cessite moins de mouvements et d'\u00e9nergie, ce qui r\u00e9duit la consommation d'oxyg\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dive-response-amp-underwater-adaptations\">R\u00e9action en plong\u00e9e et adaptations sous-marines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>En outre, la r\u00e9action dite de plong\u00e9e chez les mammif\u00e8res marins les aide \u00e0 rester sous l'eau pendant une longue p\u00e9riode. Ce m\u00e9canisme consiste en plusieurs activit\u00e9s corporelles modifi\u00e9es. Un bon exemple est le ralentissement du rythme cardiaque chez les plongeurs. Ils peuvent le ralentir jusqu'\u00e0 environ 3 battements par minute. En outre, l'apport de sang aux organes non essentiels, tels que la peau et les organes li\u00e9s \u00e0 la digestion, est r\u00e9duit. Ce m\u00e9canisme est appel\u00e9 isch\u00e9mie. Certaines voies sanguines sont m\u00eame compl\u00e8tement bloqu\u00e9es pendant la plong\u00e9e. On voit ici l'importance des p\u00e9riodes de repos en surface, car la prolongation de ces processus peut devenir n\u00e9faste pour l'animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De plus, la respiration ana\u00e9robie offre une opportunit\u00e9 \u00e9poustouflante de rester plus longtemps sous l'eau. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, la plupart des baleines commencent ce processus de respiration apr\u00e8s au moins 90% de la plong\u00e9e. En raison de processus biochimiques, des acides lactiques s'accumulent, diminuant l'efficacit\u00e9 des muscles par la fatigue musculaire. Cette situation est similaire \u00e0 celle de nos muscles endoloris apr\u00e8s un entra\u00eenement intense. L'utilisation de ce type de respiration plus t\u00f4t peut entra\u00eener des probl\u00e8mes et un \u00e9puisement au cours de la plong\u00e9e. Seules les baleines \u00e0 bec, qui d\u00e9tiennent le record de plong\u00e9e, ont trouv\u00e9 un m\u00e9canisme encore inconnu pour faire face \u00e0 ces probl\u00e8mes. Des \u00e9tudes sugg\u00e8rent en outre que la strat\u00e9gie d'alimentation par \u00e9lan des baleines bleues est tr\u00e8s \u00e9nergivore et limite donc la dur\u00e9e de leurs plong\u00e9es. Les chercheurs ont \u00e9tay\u00e9 cette hypoth\u00e8se en examinant d'autres grandes baleines \u00e0 fanons ayant des comportements de recherche de nourriture diff\u00e9rents, qui ont tendance \u00e0 avoir des dur\u00e9es de plong\u00e9e plus longues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans l'ensemble, cet article nous \u00e9claire sur ces cr\u00e9atures mystiques et leur comportement en plong\u00e9e.
