Corvo Island

A depth of detail in the shape of an island: this rock covered in velvet vegetation, where a nest of spotted houses shelters from solitude.

The lagoons surrounded by bog and small islets are a paradise for bird watching and for their rest from their long journey across the ocean. As it is easy to get around the island, there are boat circuits, scuba diving in the small beach, walking or biking amidst streets where the ecomuseum is alive, where women smile at you from their doorsteps, and old folks tell curious stories…

Do you need to take abreak from time away from mass tourism? Leave the stressful day-to-day life behind you? Look at this beautiful island, with breathtaking landscapes. A pure nature, and a stunning uniqueness! It is the smallest of the Azores archipelago, but its beauty is not inferior. Quite the opposite. Have you ever imagined yourself in the middle of the immensity of the blue ocean, on an exotic island? Corvo is perfect for those who want to have a close connection with nature. The identity of the islanders is what makes it so special. It is a “family island” where everyone knows each other. Knowing their customs and traditions is within walking distance of a trip to a cafe and having a conversation with a local.

It’s impressive that we haven’t found anybody during our walking tour. It was amazing the communion with nature. It feels that nature is still untouched.
