Objective

Fostering a dynamic collaboration, the Futurismo Azores Adventures and Azores' University Cooperation Protocol endeavors to seamlessly integrate tourism, science, and education to drive sustainable development in the Azores

Establishing research projects that align with the interests of both institutions.
Facilitating the practical application of knowledge through internships for students in the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEG).
Coordinating events and activities specific to FEG with the support of Futurismo Azores Adventures.
Enhancing students’ learning experiences through lectures, workshops, and academic activities provided by Futurismo Azores Adventures.
Offering favorable conditions for FEG students and staff to participate in tourism-related activities organized by Futurismo Azores Adventures.
Hosting FEG students for internships, fostering the acquisition of professional skills.
Collaborating on scientific research projects with a mutual interest, formalized through separate agreements.
Supporting the development of master’s theses or doctoral dissertations on topics relevant to both Futurismo Azores Adventures and FEG.
Organizing lectures and short-term courses for Futurismo Azores Adventures employees, as agreed upon for each situation.
Promoting internship opportunities provided by Futurismo Azores Adventures to FEG students.
Ensuring activation of school insurance to cover risks during internships or other activities at Futurismo Azores Adventures.

Since the signing of the collaboration protocol between Futurismo and the University of the Azores in May 2023, we have dedicated 34h of staff working hours and impacted 70 students

This transformative collaboration between Futurismo Azores Adventures and the Azores’ University resonates strongly with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 8 is addressed through the project’s commitment to fostering professional development and creating opportunities for meaningful employment in the tourism sector. Additionally, SDG 9 is reflected in the collaboration’s potential involvement in research projects and innovative practices within the tourism industry. Ultimately, SDG 17 underpins the entire initiative, emphasizing the significance of cross-sectoral collaboration to achieve sustainable development objectives.
